Moonshine Motor Club Welcomes Third Driver to Roster

Moonshine Motor Club Welcomes Thomas Villano as Third Driver for Remainder of 2024 Season and Beyond

Richmond, VA — Moonshine Motor Club (MMC) is excited to announce the addition of Thomas Villano to its driver roster for the remainder of the 2024 Crown Jewel Racing season. Villano will pilot the number 76 Next Gen Toyota Camry, joining co-owners Tommy Carroll Jr., driver of the number 56 car, and Ray Gill, driver of the number number 66 car.

Villano, a proven talent with substantial success at the lower levels of Crown Jewel Racing (CJR) and extensive experience in the Cup Series this season, reached out to the Richmond-based team with a strong interest in joining MMC. Following overnight negotiations between Villano, MMC, and Toyota, both sides have reached an agreement.

Villano’s arrival is seen as a strategic move to bolster MMC’s competitive edge. As the team heads into the crucial stages of the current season, this addition is expected to aid in Tommy Carroll Jr.’s push into the playoffs while setting the stage for a stronger 2025 campaign.

“Villano came to us with a desire to race and with plans in mind from day one on growing the team,” said Tommy Carroll Jr., co-owner of MMC. “He’s proven his abilities at the lower levels of CJR and has shown he’s got what it takes to compete in Cup. We believe that, with Moonshine’s backing, we can help him make a playoff run next year. We’re still waiting to see how the franchise draft unfolds, but Thomas is just the first piece of the puzzle for MMC in 2025 and beyond.”

Ray Gill, who recently fell just short of a playoff berth, finishing the regular season in 23rd due to a points penalty from an altercation earlier in the season, is optimistic about the team’s future. “Villano’s experience and hunger to win is exactly what we need to push MMC to the next level,” said Gill.

When reached for comment, Villano had the following statement, “I am super fortunate to be able to work with the guys at Moonshine. My rookie year hasn’t been the most successful, but I’m confident that with the combined efforts and resources of Ray, Tommy, and Myself, we can make Moonshine Motor Club a truly playoff-competitive team throughout the 2025 season in not just the TCSP Cup Series, but in all divisions. We will be working hard for the last 2 months of the season and the off-season to get the team ready for the newly implemented franchise system.”

With this latest addition, Moonshine Motor Club continues to focus on building a strong foundation for future success in Crown Jewel Racing’s Team Conti Sim Performance Cup Series.
